Snap pliers are easy to transport and move to where you are working. They can be uncomfortable to use over a long period of time though and are not suited to applying a lot of snaps, or using for commercial operations.
Snap presses are much easier to use when applying a number snaps, they can be used for commercial use and they tend to be easier to use without causing aches and pains. A manual press is a bulkier piece of equipment, which is more difficult to move around. Most people tend to start out with pliers, before moving onto a press. They then tend to use both, depending on what the item they are working on is. A snap press could be just what you are looking for.
